The movie Super Size me by Morgan Spurlock has put McDonalds in a bad position. The fast food restaurant is considered unhealthy, and Spurlock has proved that that´s right.

Or is it?

A Dutch reporter,Wim Meij, has tried to do the same thing. He went to McDonalds for 30 days, and ate nothing but McDonalds food. He wanted to see if it's true that you become fat and develop health problems if you go on a three-times-a-day McDonalds diet.

This week, his experiment has ended, and an article in one of the larger Dutch newspapers shows his results. Has Meij also become fat? Are his organs malfunctioning now? Has he got to start a new, healthy diet now, to get on his normal level?

Nope. Not at all. In fact, he has lost weight! His blood pressure has dropped, his blood is healthier and he is less likely to develop hart problems in the future. Meij has chosen the more healthy items on the McDonalds menu. He ate salads, mostly, which kept him safe.

So, does that mean McDonalds is healthy? No, but it's not unhealthy either. It's all about what you choose to eat. If you eat hamburgers and french fries only, you will most probably get fat. But if you're careful what to eat, and how much of it, you won't. It's up to you.
