The Spirit, snel opgebrand

NY Times: "To ask why anything happens in Frank Miller’s sludgy, hyper-stylized adaptation of a fabled comic book series by Will Eisner may be an exercise in futility. The only halfway interesting question is why the thing exists at all."

Frank Miller lijkt, aan de trailers te zien, met The Spirit een tweede Sin City te hebben willen maken van een comic die in zijn bronmateriaal geen Sin City is. Gezien de (naast bovenstaande) niet al te positieve reviews en de niet zo spectaculaire openingscijfers kunnen we onze hoop beter bewaren voor Sin City 2, of een van zijn Batman comics uit de kast trekken.
