Bakkel: "Can anyone who organises a happening like this make that kind of rule?"

Well, yes. As far as I know, not just anyone can enter the Olympics. If you do something they don't like, you're outta there. They make the rules, so: yes, anyone like that can make any rule like that.

Of course, if enough people would be protesting against it, an organisation like the IOC would have to consider changing the rules, I guess.

I'm not very rich, and probably won't be rich too when it's november, so I won't be attending the next BloggerCon in that month. I will be trying to follow some webcasts, if there are any, and of course I will spend some time reading about it.

After BC3, I think it will be time to start picking a date for the Dutch BloggerCon. Suggestions are welcome.

Christian Cantrell of Macromedia needs some aggregator info. Is MM working on one? Makes me very curious. Anyway, I'm always glad to help, so here are my answers:
  1. Do you use an aggregator? If so, which one? If not, why?
Yes, I do. I'm using Radio UserLand, the same tool I use to manage this weblog and my outlines.
  2. What kinds of news and information do you aggregate?
All kinds. I like to read news stuff, or be able to scan some headlines for interesting things. So I read weblogs, in English and Dutch, news sites with fulltext feeds, news sites with headline-only feeds, comic feeds (like Dilbert), private feeds (like trackbacks for my other blog) and other useful information. Which feeds I'm currently subscribed to, can be seen here.
  3. What do you like about your aggregator? What do you dislike? What could make it better?
I like the fact that everything is on the same page, so I can just scroll through it. Also I like to be able to delete things I've read from my aggregator, so I can clean it all up. But the first thing, the all-on-one-page thing, is the most important to me. I've tried several aggregators, but I keep returning to Radio for the one-page-thing.
What could make it better can be found here. See also the Radio UserLand discussion group for more discussion on this.
  4. How many feeds are you aggregating?
Currently 133, but if you ask me next week, it will probably me more. If you ask me in a few months from now, I will have deleted some feeds again.
  5. How often to you use your aggregator?
More than daily. It scans for new items every hour, so there are days when I read news every hour. Mostly, though, I'm busy, so I use the aggregator a few times a day.
  6. Anything else interesting and aggregator-related you want to share?
Not really, except that if Macromedia is making an aggregator, I would sure like to try it.
